Rejuvenate skin and address skin concerns,
such as acne, pigmentation, or mild wrinkles.
Laser treatments are popular and
effective aesthetic procedures to rejuvenate the skin and reduce the effects of
aging and UV damage, while remaining minimally invasive. Different lasers can
be used to address a variety of skin concerns.
At LS Aesthetic, we have a range
of laser machines that can address multiple skin concerns, ranging from acne
scars, spider veins, wrinkles or hair removal, to pigmentation treatments such as freckle removal or melasma treatments.
Our laser treatments can also be
combined with our medical-grade facials to give you an effective and holistic treatment
for your skincare needs while pampering yourself.
How do laser
In general, laser treatments direct concentrated pulses of
light into the skin. Depending on the type of laser, the laser treatment can
- Penetrate the deeper layers of the skin to
stimulate collagen production, disperse pigment, as well as reduce fines and
- Gently resurface the outer layers of your skin
to promote the growth of new skin, resulting in improved skin texture and tone,
along with the reduction of skin imperfections.
What can I expect
during the procedure?
Prior to the procedure, an
experienced therapist will help you apply a local anaesthetic to your treatment
During the procedure, as Dr. Kok
directs the laser handpiece over your skin, you will most likely feel a prickly
sensation. Most patients find this tolerable and experience minimal discomfort
after their procedures. Dr Kok and his team of therapists will take steps to
ensure that your experience is as comfortable as possible.
Is it safe? Are there
any side effects?
Laser treatments are safe and
have been practiced widely for many years, with multiple clinical papers
backing their efficacy.
Most patients report experiencing
redness immediately following the procedure. However, there is no downtime for
most laser treatments, and patients are able to return to their daily
activities following the procedure.
For stronger laser procedures,
patients might experience skin peeling a few days after the treatment, to
reveal new and improved skin. While you will be able to resume your daily
activities after the treatment, Dr. Kok advises avoiding high-impact exercises
and direct exposure to sunlight for the first 2 days to allow for optimum skin
healing. Downtime is expected to be up to a week. You may wish to schedule your
procedure for stronger laser procedures a few weeks before any important social
Sun protection measures are
strongly advised after all laser treatments.
Am I a suitable
Most laser procedures are
suitable for all skin types. Some laser treatments may not be suitable for
patients with darker skin tones, as they could be at risk of unwanted
If you are not suitable for such
laser treatments, Dr. Kok will be able to recommend other treatments for your
skin type that suits your needs.
