You may have heard about Dermalift as being the “instant facelift” but may have been wondering how it works?
We take an in-depth look at the Dermalift process, and answer the questions you may have:
What is Dermalift, exactly?
Dermalift is a skin tightening procedure that involves the injection of diluted botulinum toxin into the skin. This has the effect of tightening your skin, in turn giving your face a lifted appearance.
Regular botulinum toxin injections are injected into your facial muscles to reduce muscle contractions, in turn reducing the appearance of wrinkles at the area of injection.
Dermalift however, sees diluted botulinum toxin being injected intradermally (i.e. into your skin layer), resulting in an overall lift in your entire face.
What are the benefits of Dermalift?
Dermalift is great for lifting mild sagging skin in a short period of time! Other benefits include:
- A firmer face with less sagging
- A reduction in fine lines and mild wrinkles without the “frozen look”
- A younger and refreshed appearance, especially around the eyes
- A more refined jawline for sharper-looking features
- Minimal to no downtime

How does Dermalift work?
Dermalift works by injecting diluted botulinum toxin intra-dermally (into the skin layer) at specific points on the face.
This causes a contraction of your skin layers, and stimulates your skin’s fibroblast cells to produce more collagen. All this results in a skin tightening and lifting effect: an instant facelift!
This technique was pioneered by renowned South Korean plastic surgeon, Dr Lee Yong Seob, whom Dr Kok has personally trained under.
What can I expect during the Dermalift procedure?
Prior to your Dermalift session with Dr Kok and after Dr Kok has deterined your skin as suitable for the procedure, our experienced therapists will help you apply a numbing cream to ensure that your procedure is as comfortable as possible.
Skin marking is then done with you seated in an upright position, to allow Dr. Kok to identify areas that require tightening, before he begins the procedure.
Dr. Kok might ask you to sit up multiple times during the procedure to assess the symmetry or to show you the instant lifting effects of the treatment.
Is there downtime?
Downtime is minimal – some patients might see minor injection marks, redness, or minor swelling, but that generally subsides within a day.
You can still go about your daily routine without much disruption!

How long do the results last?
It is important to note that while we cannot stop the dynamic process of aging, those with mild sagging skin will see an instant facelift immediately. The results will further improve over the next 7 to 14 days.
It is recommended that you do 6 sessions of Dermalift the first year, 2 months apart. Subsequent treatments in the following years will be advised by Dr Kok, depending on your skin condition.
