New year, new you. And it’s not just your resolutions that start over on a clean slate – if you’ve been guilty of not taking good enough care of your skin, now’s the time to fight those bad habits and adopt a healthier and more pampering attitude towards your skin.
Here are the 3 resolutions we’d make for good skin:
1. RESTORE RADIANCE
We all want that dewy, “I woke up like this” complexion – here are some ways to work towards it.
1. Sleep
Sleep is literally, beauty sleep– it does wonders for your skin! Without enough sleep, your skin’s pH levels drop, creating an imbalance. This can lead to a dehydrated complexion, redness, and an uneven skin tone.
Try setting a sleep schedule by creating target sleeping and waking times – and stick to it! Your complexion will thank you the morning after.
2. Stay Active
Exercise has been proven to clear up your complexion: when you work up a good sweat, your pores tend to dilate, and your sweat tends to expel any trapped dirt and oil, essentially clearing up your skin. Just remember to thoroughly wash your face afterwards, to prevent any dirt from getting sucked back into your pores!
3. Laser Treatments & Pampering Facials
Sometimes our skin just needs an extra boost – at LS Aesthetic Clinic, we have a number of treatments that help bring back the natural radiance of your skin:
A) Dull Complexion Combo
Revive dull skin with a combination of laser treatments and our Radiance facial, which uses a mild enzyme peel to speed up cellular turnover, lightening and brightening all skin types.
B) Intense Hydration and Brightening Treatment
This combination of skin boosters and hydradermabrasion keeps skin hydrated, giving skin an added dewy glow.
C) Eye 2 Laser
Reduce dark eye circles and fine lines around the eye area with our signature eye laser treatment.
D) Radiance/Rejuvenation Facials
These facial treatments use gentle peels to brighten the skin, treat fine lines, and deeply hydrate skin.
2. BANISH BLEMISHES
Unwanted pesky blemishes in the form of acne, freckles, or melasma can sometimes be the bane of our existence. To keep such blemishes away, here are some good habits to practise:

1. Sunscreen
Applying sunscreen on a regular basis is a good first start to prevent future pigmentation problems. Remember to apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 that protects you against UVA and UVB rays.
2. Exfoliate on a regular basis
Use a gentle face scrub 2-3 times a week during your daily cleansing routine. This helps prevent pores from clogging up and allowing acne to form, as well as cleanses skin from pollutants that we face on a daily basis.
3. Laser Treatments, Light Therapy or Medical-Grade Peels
For stubborn acne or pigmentation that just won’t go away, aesthetic treatments might help in reducing their appearance. At LS Aesthetic, we have a number of tailored programmes specifically targeted at reducing stubborn blemishes:
A) Acne Combo
Keep unwanted acne at bay! Our signature combination of laser treatments, blue light therapy, and chemical peels can help to reduce acne scars, resulting in clearer, smoother skin.
B) Pigmentation Combo
Lighten freckles, melasma, and age spots with laser treatments and exfoliating chemical peels.
C) Carbon Laser Peel
Tackle acne and oily skin concerns head on with our carbon laser peel. It reduces acne breakouts, minimises pore size, and improves skin tone with no down time!
D) Skin Supplements
Oral supplements such as Pynocare and Crystal Tomato contain antioxidants that prevent the formation ofpigmentation by inhibiting melanin synthesis, effectively whitening and brightening skin.
3. TURN BACK TIME
Concerned about wrinkles or crow’s feet? Making some lifestyle changes, or a trip to the dermatologist can help greatly in reversing any tell-tale signs of aging.

1. R for Retinoid
Retinoids are one of the magic ingredients for anti-aging: they not only minimise the appearance of wrinkles, but also slow down the breakdown of collagen (which unfortunately tends to happen as part of the aging process) and lighten pigmentation caused by UV damage.
If you’re new to using retinoids, adopt it gradually into your skincare routine by applying it every other day or mixing it with your daily moisturiser or serum. Different people have different needs based on their skin type: some may need to use retinoids more frequently whereas some may only require it every other day.
Retinoids can be found in our day creams from our in-house medical-grade skincare range, LS Formula.
2. Cut down on sugar
Studies have shown that sugar in all forms – high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar etc. – is extremely bad for your skin. It’s known to be collagen’s worst enemy: an overload of sugar in your bloodstream can cause a chemical reaction called glycation, which happens when excess sugar molecules attach themselves to collagen fibres. This causes collagen fibres to lose its strength, in turn causing our skin to sag and be more vulnerable to UV damage and aging.
So hold back on the Coke, and you’ll be doing your skin a huge, huge favour.
3. Laser Treatments and Anti-Wrinkle Injections
To reverse deeper wrinkles or rejuvenate your skin, restorative aesthetic treatments are also an option:
A) Laser Treatments
Our signature laser skin rejuvenation programme helps to tighten skin, improve skin tone, and minimise pores.
B) Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Smooth away forehead wrinkles and frown lines with anti-wrinkle injections
C) Fillers
Achieve a younger look with minimal downtime! Fillers can reduce wrinkles, smoothen skin, and restore volume to sunken cheeks.
So in a nutshell, it’s never too late to start taking good care of your skin! We’d all like to turn back time, banish blemishes, or restore radiance to our complexion, and taking a step towards that, even if it’s just a tiny step, is a great way forward this new year.
