Sick of seeing promises of instant results for skin treatments that don’t quite follow through? With that in mind, we’ve rounded up 3 treatments that truly provide an instant lifting effect or glow – just in time for Chinese New Year!

1. Dermalift
Dermalift is an instant skin tightening procedure for those with mildly loose skin, giving one a more refreshed and youthful appearance.

The complete list of Dermalift’s benefits includes:

  • Tighter skin, instantly!
  • Firmer face with less sagging
  • Reduction in fine lines and mild wrinkles without the “frozen look”
  • Younger and refreshed appearance, especially around the eyes
  • Refines your jawline for sharper-looking features
  • Minimal to no downtime

This involves the injection of diluted Dysport (a type of botulinum toxin) into the skin at strategic points. This causes the skin to contract and has a pulling, lifting effect – an instant facelift!

During the procedure, Dr Kok will work on one side of the face first, and show you the instant lifting results, before proceeding to the other side.

2. Luminous Facials
Our signature Luminous facial helps to brighten and hydrate skin, while helping to treat dehydrated skin.

At LS Aesthetic, we use specialised machines to apply active serums into your skin during the Luminous facial, helping the active ingredients to penetrate your skin more deeply, in turn giving you that coveted post-treatment glow with no downtime!

3. Fillers
Filler injections increase the tissue layers they are injected into, instantly increasing volume in the injected area. Fillers are a popular treatment these days for:

  • Deep facial wrinkles (e.g. marionette lines, nasolabial folds)
  • Sunken facial features, especially in the cheeks and tear troughs
  • Facial augmentation (e.g. lip fillers for a fuller pout)

If you’re looking for a quick fix to get glowing skin this Chinese New Year, we’ve got your back.

Facial treatments, gentle peels, and laser treatments are some of the fastest ways to exfoliate, hydrate, and brighten skin, while giving your skin a dewy glow.

And don’t worry, all of these treatments have no downtime. You don’t have to worry about your skin peeling or feeling red and raw – red might be the lucky colour for CNY, but we doubt you want to walk around with a bright red face!

Hydradermabrasion/Hydrafacial
This hydrating facial uses oxygen and water jets to deeply cleanse clogged pores and hydrate skin. It also provides an extra step of infusing medical-grade serums into your skin.

The type of serum infused into your skin depends on the type of hydradermabrasion treatment you choose for your skin concerns, ranging from acne control to skin brightening.

A hydrafacial has multiple benefits, and can:

  • Deeply hydrate skin
  • Exfoliate dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin
  • Improve dull complexions and clear uneven skin tones
  • Brighten skin
  • Clear clogged pores
  • Reduce acne inflammations

Carbon Laser Peels vs Chemical Peels: What's The Difference?

You may have heard about carbon laser peels or chemical peels and how they can help with one’s acne woes.

A carbon laser peel, also known as the “Hollywood Peel”, uses a carbon cream mask before the laser treatment to absorb impurities.

During the laser treatment, the light from the laser beam breaks down the carbon cream, causing multiple tiny 'explosions' of carbon particles that both exfoliate the skin and remove impurities that the carbon cream has absorbed.

This process also releases a smaller amount of heat, stimulating collagen production, reducing acne inflammation and lightening acne scars.

A chemical peel, on the other hand, is a chemical formulation that is applied to the skin and left for a controlled amount of time to take effect, before being cleansed off.

Both types of peels are great in rejuvenating skin by:

  • Reducing acne breakouts and inflammation
  • Controlling oily skin
  • Minimising pore size and unclogs pores
  • Lightening pigmentation and acne scars
  • Improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Exfoliating dead skin cells
  • Improving skin texture and tone

However, there are a few differences between both types of peels. We break them down for you here:

Method of Achieving Results
While both the carbon laser peel and chemical peel can give similar results, the main difference lies in how these results are achieved.

The carbon laser peel tends to rejuvenate skin via the heat generated from the laser treatment, whereas the chemical peel tends to achieve similar results via a chemical reaction.

As a result of the varying mechanisms, those prone to eczema or who have sensitive skin may be better suited for a carbon laser peel.

Amount of Downtime
Depending on the strength of a chemical peel, there might be a couple of days of downtime – so plan your social calendar accordingly!

On the other hand, a carbon laser peel can tackle your acne skin concerns with no downtime! You’ll be free to carry on with your daily routine after your treatment. Some might experience slight facial redness, but this can be easily covered with makeup.

We hope this clears up any confusion you may have over carbon laser peels and chemical peels! For more information on our carbon laser peels or chemical peels, call us at +656738 4700, email us atenquire@lsaestheticclinic.com, or visit us at Wisma Atria Office Tower, #10-04, along Orchard Road.
