Mothers of brides/grooms! It’s technically your child’s big day, but it’s definitely a major moment for you too. We think mums need some pre-wedding pampering too, and what better excuse than your child’s wedding to finally fix that nagging skincare concern?

As always, how high or low-maintenance you want to be is entirely up to you – the focus is still ensuring your child has a special, unforgettable day! But if you want to go all in, or if you are just looking for some rough guidelines, we’ve got your back.

We’ve prepared a comprehensive beauty timeline: how to fix any skincare concerns you might have and when to schedule it:

5-6 MONTHS BEFORE:

Pigmentation & Other Blemishes
If you have any pigmentation blemishes, such as freckles, age spots or melasma, that you’d like to get rid of before the wedding, it’s best to get it treated early. Stubborn pigmentation can be treated by laser treatments, which take a while due to necessary intervals in between treatment sessions.

Laser treatments are well tolerated by most patients, and have the side effect of boosting collagen production while reducing the appearance of fine lines – a great way of rejuvenating your skin while remaining non-invasive with no downtime!

Pigmentation Treatments for Mothers of Brides/Grooms | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Dark Eye Circles
As with pigmentation, stubborn dark eye circles should be treated early as well. Dark eye circles can be treated with eye laser treatments – our signature laser treatment reduces dark pigment and manages the appearance of blood vessels, both of which can be causes of your dark eye circles.

Our eye facials are also specially formulated for dark eye circles – this involves an infusion of serums into the undereye area with specialised machines, helping to brighten and lighten dark circles!

Exercise
Start an exercise regimen and stick to it, as a way of toning up before your child’s big day. Pilates and yoga are great exercises that help to tone up your body while going gentle on the joints. Going for a morning hike is a great way to get some cardio exercise, and if you go with your child, that makes for a great bonding time too!

Facials for Radiant Skin
You’d most likely want to have glowing, radiant skin for your child’s big day. Our Radiance or Rejuvenation facials are great for achieving just that – mild enzyme peels help to speed up cellular turnover, brightening your skin while treating sun damage, fine lines or dehydrated skin.

Facial Treatments for Mothers of Brides/Grooms | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Microdermabrasion and hydradermabrasion are great for exfoliating dead skin cells and promoting the growth of new skin, giving you a smoother and more radiant complexion. Hydradermabrasion has the added effect of making your skin look dewy, thanks to the extra serums infused into your skin through our special machine.

And the great thing is, these are all non-invasive treatments with no pain or downtime – what better way to prepare your skin for the wedding than a relaxing facial, are we right?

3 MONTHS BEFORE:

Ultherapy for Skin Lifting & Tightening
Lift sagging skin before the big day with Ultherapy, a non-invasive treatment approved by the U.S. FDA. Think of it as a non-surgical facelift: Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to safely tighten loose skin and smooth out wrinkles, while boosting collagen production.

While some patients see an immediate lifting effect, the ultimate results of Ultherapy gradually appears over the next 3 months, as part of your body’s natural collagen regeneration process that gradually lifts and tightens skin on your face, neck, chest, or double chin.

Hair & Makeup Trials
If you are looking to perm or straighten your hair, now’s the time. Or if you want a specific hairstyle or makeup look, try to find a couple of reference pictures so that you and your hairstylist/makeup artist are on the same page.

If you’re going together with your daughter or daughter-in-law, this could make for a good bonding session as well!

Eyebrow Grooming
If you don’t quite trust yourself to handle your brows, leave it in the hands of a professional instead. If you are looking to tint your brows or go for eyebrow embroidery, now’s a good time to do it too!

1 MONTH BEFORE:

Anti-Wrinkle Injections/Fillers
Banish unwanted frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet with anti-wrinkle injections. The effects of anti-wrinkle injections usually kick in a couple of days after the treatment, and the results usually for about 4 months, so a good time for such treatments would usually be a month before.

Fillers are great for treating deep-set wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds or laugh lines, as well as sunken tear troughs or hollow cheeks. The effect is immediate with little to no downtime!

Dermalift
If you are looking for a non-surgical treatment to tighten and lift your skin before your child’s big day, Dermalift could be an option for you. This treatment lifts and tightens your skin with a series of micro-injections – most patients see a visible lift immediately! The lifting and tightening effects of Dermalift continue over the next 5-10 days and can last for about 4 months. Click here to find out more.

1 WEEK BEFORE:

Have your last (gentle!) facial
Now’s the time to have one last facial before your child’s big day. Make sure there are no harsh or abrasive procedures – such as extraction – involved! Try a hydrating facial to get that dewy glow, or a mild enzyme peel to gently exfoliate your skin, brightening your complexion for the big day.

Cut down on salt & sugar
As much as we love our sweets and snacks, salt can cause puffiness, while sugar can wreak havoc on our complexions. Try to abstain from these as much as you can to prevent any last-minute skin problems or complications!

1 DAY BEFORE:

Manicure/Pedicure
Go with a gel nail polish to prevent any unsightly chips during the wedding.

Sleep! & Hydrate
Amidst all the planning (and excitement), try to get some rest. This best ensures that you look fresh and radiant the next day.

And there we have it! Relax and enjoy yourself – it’s your child’s big day, and it’s going to be a day filled with emotions, memories, and love. As you watch your child walk down the aisle, we bet you’re going to be so proud!

Pre-Wedding Skincare: How to start & where to begin

Getting prepped for the big day can sound quite overwhelming at times – we all hear how brides have flawless skin and glowing complexions on their wedding day, but how? How does one begin a wedding beauty regimen? Where does one even start?

Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments - Laser Treatments, Facials | LS Aesthetic Clinic

We break it down for you: here are 3 simple steps you can start off from, and how you can take it up a notch whenever you feel up for it.

#1: ADOPT GOOD SKINCARE PRACTICES

Having good skincare habits way before your big day is crucial – if your skin isn’t in good condition, makeup won’t sit well on it, no matter how much you try.

Start off with a simple cleansing regimen of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturising daily.

In the daytime, remember to apply sunscreen, preferably sunscreens that protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

And at night, remember to thoroughly remove all traces of makeup! Not removing makeup properly is one of the major contributors to clogged pores. Clogged pores also create a perfect breeding ground for acne bacteria, potentially causing acne breakouts as well. Try double cleansing first with an oil-based makeup remover, followed by a water-based makeup remover.

Take it up a notch by introducing retinol in your skincare routine. Retinol, or the technical name for Vitamin A, has an astounding number of benefits for your skin:

  • Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
  • Boosts collagen production
  • Speeds up cellular turnover
  • Lighten age spots, melasma, and other forms of pigmentation
  • Minimise large pores

#2: LEARN TO MANAGE STRESS

Wedding planning can take a toll on even the most organised bride – last minute RSVPs! Seating plans are always a nightmare. Believe it or not, a lot of our skin problems can be triggered by our psychological state of being.

Stress, when not properly managed, can cause insomnia, worsen rosacea, and even trigger eczema breakouts, effectively sabotaging any skincare efforts you may be doing to prep your skin for your big day. Needless to say, bringing stress levels down is the way to go!

Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments - Laser Treatments, Facials | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Start off by practising mindful breathing, or meditate with the help of apps such as Breathe or Headspace, when you feel things start to get overwhelming.

The great thing about meditation is that it’s not something that you have to practise for weeks to reap the benefits – you can see positive changes immediately! Not only does meditation reduce your body’s production of stress-related hormones, it also gives your brain a break from worrying about your to-do list.

Take it up a notch by fitting in a yoga class or two – that definitely helps as well! Yoga classes, apart from clearing the mind, also have the benefit of toning your core muscles, helping you look lean and toned for your big day.

#3: GET PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE

Most brides tend to seek help from an aesthetic doctor to achieve their goal of having glowing, radiant skin for their weddings.

Start off by seeking facial treatments that address your skin concerns:

Hydradermabrasion:

This aesthetic facial treatment uses the healing powers of water and oxygen to achieve the double effect of exfoliating dead skin cells and deeply cleansing pores. The active infusion of medical-grade serums also help in visibly hydrating skin.

Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments - Laser Treatments, Facials | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Medical-Grade Facials:

At LS Aesthetic, our facials are not only designed to relax, rejuvenate, and pamper your skin, but also treat any skin conditions you might have, such as acne, pigmentation, or overall skin rejuvenation.

Our facials can include ultrasonic cleansing, which deeply cleanses your skin with the use of ultrasound technology, as well as mild enzyme peels to speed up cellular turnover, and brighten skin.

Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments - Laser Treatments, Facials | LS Aesthetic Clinic

If you are particularly worried about dark eye circles, we also offer eye facials to lighten and brighten the undereye area, through the infusion of active serums.

Take it up a notch by going for laser treatments to further treat any skin problems you may wish to get rid off before your big day!

Laser Treatments:

Laser treatments are useful in treating a variety of skin concerns, such as acne, pigmentation, mild wrinkles, or unwanted body hair, while remaining non-invasive and requiring little to no downtime!

Most lasers are great as lunchtime beauty fixes – get your treatment done in less than half an hour, and feel free to apply makeup and resume your daily routine immediately after.

Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments - Laser Treatments, Facials | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Dark eye circles can also be treated with specially-targeted eye laser treatments, which help in reducing pigment and managing the appearance of blood vessels – both of which could be the causes of your dark eye circles.

And the best part of seeking professional help is, all the planning is done for you! No need to worry about where to start or how to begin prepping your skin for your big day – your skincare treatments will be planned and scheduled for you, based on your needs.

5 Essential Bridal Skincare Tips

When it comes to prepping your skin for your big day, there’s no such thing as starting too early! Every healthy habit you adopt, no matter how small, can go a long way in improving your complexion. Here are some of our tips for that coveted bridal glow:

#1: DON’T FORGET THE SPF
As we all know, harmful UV rays can cause free radical damage to our skin. This results in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, and a dull complexion – things you’d probably won’t want on your big day!

Remember to opt for a broad spectrum sunscreen that can protect you against UVA and UVB rays. Getting a non-comedogenic sunscreen that does not clog your pores, such as our Solar Protection Formula sunscreen, is even better!

#2: IF YOU DIET, DO IT RIGHT
If you are looking to drop a few pounds before your wedding, make sure you do so safely and healthily. Avoid crash dieting! If you’re not getting the right nutrients, this not only shows clearly on your complexion, but can also make you look more haggard over time.

Instead, try a moderate cut to your sugar and simple carbohydrate intake. And try upping your superfoods intake with that – foods such as kale, salmon or grapefruits are not just great for your health, but for your complexion too!

Healthy Foods for Healthy Complexions | LS Aesthetic Clinic

#3: KNOW THY SKIN
Knowing your skin type and the skincare woes that systematically come up for you helps a great deal in seeking targeted treatments early.

If you know you tend to have oily skin and regular outbreaks of hormonal acne, you might want to try acne laser treatments, or hydradermabrasion, to ensure that you’re blemish-free on your big day. Or your skin tends to be on the drier side, be sure to always hydrate. Having a hydrating facial or two wouldn’t hurt either!

Facial Treatments, Microdermabrasion, Hydradermabrasion | LS Aesthetic Clinic

#4: DROP ANY LAST-MINUTE TESTING!
It’s tempting to want to try new products, especially those that promise amazing complexions in just a few days. But no matter what, don’t try any new skincare products 3 weeks before your wedding!

Any kind of allergic reaction could take a few weeks to fully subside, and this is something to definitely avoid just weeks away from your big day. Should you want to try out a new facial or skincare product, make sure to try it a couple of months before.

#5: DON’T LEAVE IT TILL THE LAST MINUTE
The longer period of time you have to correct any skin issues, the better! Common skincare woes such as acne breakouts and scars, pigmentation, or unwanted leg or underarm hair take some time to respond to aesthetic treatments, so it’s best to get it treated as early as you can.

For a more detailed guideline on what treatments to do when, read our complete bridal beauty game plan here.

It’s your big day! And probably also the day you’d want to look your very best.

We’ve prepared a bridal beauty guide, ranging from facial treatments to hair care, and when you should be scheduling in these treatments before your big day. How high or low maintenance you want to be is entirely up to you, so feel free to pick out from the steps below what works for you!

But you want all in, here’s the plan:

8 MONTHS BEFORE:

Laser Hair Removal
If you have unwanted hair on your legs, forearms, underarms, or upper lip that you want to zap away, be sure to start early!

Laser hair removal is most permanent and effective when removing hairs at a specific growth phase – the “active” phase. Given that the hairs on our body all grow at different rates, and you’ll have to give at least 3 weeks in between hair removal sessions, you’ll need some time to fully remove any unwanted hair.

Visit Your Aesthetic Doctor
If you want professional help in achieving a glowing, radiant complexion for your big day, it’s best to visit an aesthetic doctor early! A good doctor can offer professional advice, advanced technologies, as well as medical-grade products to fix any acne, pigmentation, or other skin problems you might have.

Facials!
Hydradermabrasion or microdermabrasion facials are great for exfoliating dead skin cells to reveal a smoother complexion, and hydradermabrasion has the added benefit of infusing active serums into your skin for that added glow!

Facials that offer mild enzyme peels are also a great way to get a smooth, radiant complexion without any downtime.

And what better way than a relaxing facial to do get rid of the wedding planning stress, are we right?

Facials, Microdermabrasion, Hydradermabrasion - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Start A Consistent Skincare Regimen
Consistency is key here! Remember to cleanse, tone, and moisturise every morning and night, and exfoliate a couple of times a week. If your doctor prescribes you a certain skincare regimen, be sure to follow that instead.

And always, always, remember to remove your makeup completely at the end of the day – no matter how late it is or how lazy you feel.

6 MONTHS BEFORE:

Dark Eye Rings Laser/Facial
If you want to get rid of your dark eye rings, either laser treatments or eye facials can be useful in reducing the appearance of unwanted panda eyes.

At LS Aesthetic Clinic, our signature eye laser treatment reduces the appearance of dark eye circles by removing unwanted pigment and lessening the appearance of blood vessels, both of which could contribute to dark eye circles.

On the other hand, our eye facials involve the targeted infusion of active serums with specialised machines, lightening and brightening your undereye area.

There needs to be about 2 weeks between each facial or laser treatment, so if your dark circles are something you want treated before your big day, remember to start as early as you can!

Dark Eye Circles Laser Treatments - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Start Exercise & Nutrition Regimen
We all want to look healthy and toned on our big day, not bony and weak! Enroll in a HIIT class, go for a run twice a week, or do home cardio workouts with the help of Youtube exercise videos – stay consistently active, and your body will shape up in no time!

But be sure to always listen to your body, and give yourself the rest you need.

Avoid crash-dieting too – that doesn’t work out in the long term.

Experiment with Hair Colour
Thinking about something new for your wedding? It’s best to test it out a couple of months before. If you don’t end up liking it, there’s still time to change it up.

Acne/Pigmentation Laser Treatments
If you’re looking to get rid of your acne or pigmentation woes with laser treatments, plan your laser treatment schedule with your doctor so that your skin will be prepped in time for your big day!

Laser treatments often have an additional positive effect of boosting collagen production and promoting the growth of new, healthy skin. These take time as these effects occur as part of your body’s natural processes – so planning and scheduling are key!

Laser Treatments for Acne, Pigmentation - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

3 MONTHS BEFORE:

Hair/Makeup Trials
Now’s the time to start experimenting with different hair and makeup styles for your wedding!

Remember to bring along a couple of reference pictures too – “loose, wavy curls” can sometimes mean different things to different people! This is where Pinterest could come in handy. Bring along a picture of your wedding dress if you can – this could help your hairstylist and makeup artist visualise your look better.

If you want to perm or straighten your hair, now’s the time. Remember to schedule a touch-up session closer to your big day, just in case.

Eyebrow Grooming
If you don’t quite trust yourself and your tweezers, schedule a trip to a professional. If you want to tint your brows, now’s a good time to try it too! (And not just before your wedding)

Ultherapy/Radiofrequency Treatments
If you are looking to lift or tighten the skin on your face, Ultherapy or radiofrequency treatments might be for you. Think of them as non-surgical facelifts – these treatments use either ultrasound energy or radiofrequency to lift, tighten, and tone lax skin. And with no downtime!

Ultherapy also has the added benefit of stimulating the body’s natural collagen production, which contributes to that radiant glow every bride wants!

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening Facials - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

1 MONTH BEFORE:

Anti-Wrinkle Injections/Fillers
Fillers are good for treating deep facial wrinkles, sunken forehead temples or cheeks, and for augmenting your cheeks, chin, or lips, should you wish to do so. The effect of a filler treatment is immediate with little to no downtime.

Anti-wrinkle injections can reduce any unwanted crow’s feet or frown lines, helping you look picture-perfect on your big day. Such injections generally last for a couple of months and it takes a couple of days for the anti-wrinkle effects to kick in, so schedule your appointment 1 month before.

If you are looking to achieve a V-shaped face for our wedding, botulinum toxin injections can help to give you a sharper jawline. Depending on your face shape, chin fillers can also be used to sharpen your chin, further enhancing the V-shaped face that you want.

Fillers, Square Jaw Reduction for a V-Shaped Face - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

1 WEEK BEFORE:

Brows
Schedule your final brow session, and resist overplucking with your tweezers!

Facials
Schedule your final facial – make sure it’s a gentle one! A soothing, hydrating facial works best to preserve and enhance a radiant complexion.

Food Intake
To prevent puffiness, especially on the face, cut down on salt as much as you can. Control your sugar intake too to prevent any potential skin problems or complications.

1 DAY BEFORE:

Manicure/Pedicure
Request for a gel polish to prevent unsightly chips on your big day.

Pack Emergency Kit
Have a kit of supplies ready for any last-minute emergencies! Some supplies include: stain remover wipes, nail polish, cotton buds, bobby pins, and a sewing kit.

Sleep! & Hydrate!
Amidst all the last-minute planning, try to get some rest. This will best ensure that you are fresh and radiant the next day.

Fillers, Laser Treatments, Facials - Bridal Treatments | LS Aesthetic Clinic

And… it’s your big day! This is going to be a day of beautiful memories – so relax and enjoy yourself!

Sunken Tear Troughs or Dark Eye Circles?

Continually looking like you’ve been having sleepless nights and not quite enjoying it? Undereye concealers not quite doing their job? Panda eyes are the bane of many a woman’s existence.

But did you know these panda eyes could actually be caused by 2 things – either sunken tear troughs or dark eye circles? Or even both?

Telling them apart can sometimes be tricky, but we’ll help you break it down:

Sunken Tear Troughs
Tear troughs refer to the grooves between your lower eyelid and your cheek. These can create the illusion of dark circles around our eyes, making us look tired even when we’ve had enough sleep.

Laser Treatments, Facials, Fillers for Sunken Tear Troughs, Dark Eye Circles | LS Aesthetic Clinic

HOW NOW?
Fortunately, we can reduce the appearance of sunken tear troughs with hyaluronic acid fillers – this is a simple, non-surgical, 30-min procedure with close to no downtime. And as with most fillers, results can be seen immediately!

Dark Eye Circles
Dark eye circles can be caused by the darkening of your skin or the prominence of the blood vessels in your undereye area.

Laser Treatments, Facials, Fillers for Sunken Tear Troughs, Dark Eye Circles | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Try pushing slightly on your undereye area – if the darkness disappears, it means that our dark eye circles is most likely caused by the blood vessels under your skin, or it could be a shadow caused by sunken tear troughs or eye bags.

We all know too that the lack of sleep can contribute to the appearance of unwanted panda eyes, but other causes of dark eye circles include:

  • Genetics
Unfortunately, dark eye circles can also be an inherited trait, and could have already appeared in your childhood years. Not to fret totally though, as some do outgrow their dark circles over time!

  • Allergies
Nasal congestion due to allergies can sometimes dilate the blood vessels around your eye area, causing them to appear darker.

  • Alcohol
Alcohol can dehydrate your skin, making the blood vessels around our undereye area more prominent. This is caused by excessive alcohol consumption though, so a glass or 2 of vino is still fine, but you might want to rethink the 3rd of 4th glass.

  • Bad habits!
Are you a frequent eye-rubber? Constant eye rubbing, or other bad habits such as not putting sunscreen can cause hyperpigmentation, which causes the skin around your eye area to darken.

HOW NOW?
How then can we get rid of these eye woes?

Facials that are specially targeted to treat dark eye circles, such as our Dark Eye Rings facial, are great for brightening and lightening dark eye circles.

This involves the infusion of medical-grade serums with specialised machines, to allow the active ingredients to better penetrate your undereye area. This also hydrates your skin and improves blood circulation!

Laser treatments, such as our signature Eye 2 Laser treatment, have the effect of reducing blood vessel size and skin pigmentation, in turn reducing the appearance of dark eye circles. Such treatments are specially targeted for your undereye area.

Don’t fret though, we’re not going to zap your eyes! These are completely safe, and have no downtime. Feel free to wear makeup and resume your daily activities after!

Call us at +65 6738 4700 or email us at enquire@lsaestheticclinic.com for more enquiries. We are conveniently located at #10-04 Wisma Atria Office Tower, 435 Orchard Road Singapore 238877.

5 (Non-Surgical!) Aesthetic Treatments for Fresh-Looking Eyes

They often say the eyes are the window to the soul. And while having an old soul is great, who wouldn’t want young, fresh-looking eyes?

People often assume plastic surgery is required when it comes to reversing our age, especially when it comes to the eye area. But with various aesthetic treatments these days, you can lift sagging eyebrows and get rid of wrinkles and dark eye circles – all without surgery.

And the best part is, most of these treatments have no downtime! Feel free to wear makeup and resume your daily routine immediately after your treatment.

  1. Ultherapy
Think of Ultherapy as a non-surgical face lift – this non-invasive U.S. FDA-approved aesthetic treatment uses ultrasound energy to lift and tighten skin, while smoothing wrinkles and fine lines.

When applied to the eye area, Ultherapy has the effect of reducing drooping eyebrows, firming up skin around the eye area, and stimulating collagen production.

  2. Laser Treatments
Don’t worry! We’re not going to zap your eyes – laser treatments are completely safe. They work by sending pulses of light into your skin, and this has the effect of reducing blood vessel size and pigmentation – both of which could be the causes of your dark eye circles.

Our signature Eye 2 Laser treatment specifically targets and treats dark eye rings, reducing the appearance of those unwanted panda eyes!

Laser Treatments for Dark Eye Circles, Fine Lines | LS Aesthetic Clinic
  3. Radiofrequency
This non-invasive treatment uses radiofrequency waves, which when directed into your skin, helps to stimulate collagen production and clear up mild undereye puffiness.

Radiofrequency Treatments for Dark Eye Circles, Fine Lines, Eye Bags | LS Aesthetic Clinic

  4. Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Reduce the appearance of forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines with anti-wrinkle injections. These injections work by temporarily reducing muscle contractions at the treatment area. This in turn allows the muscles around your eye to relax, and has the effect of reducing wrinkles around your eye area.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections forCrow's Feet, Frown Lines | LS Aesthetic Clinic

  5. Fillers for Sunken Tear Troughs
Sunken tear troughs are caused by depressions under your eyes, and can create the illusion of dark eye circles, making your undereyes look darker than they really are.

Luckily, this can be fixed without the need for surgery! Fillers are a safe alternative, and give natural results with minimal downtime.

Now you can say goodbye to tired-looking eyes, without the need for surgery!

7 Acne Treatments That Your Derm Would Approve

We know that sense of dread when you see a zit emerging… and the first things we reach out for: spot treatments! Over-the-counter acne patches!

But those don’t always work, so what do we do when we want our acne to go away, fast?

At LS Aesthetic Clinic, we’ve rounded up various acne treatment programs we offer that cater to a range of acne conditions, as well as those acne scars that just won’t go away.

  1. LASER TREATMENTS
At LS Aesthetic Clinic, we offer multiple laser programs to treat acne and acne scars.

Laser Treatments, Acne Peels, & Hydradermabrasion for Acne-Prone Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

    • Carbon Laser Peel
This involves the application of a carbon cream on your face prior to your laser treatment and has the effect of:
      • Reducing acne breakouts
      • Minimising pore size
      • Lightening acne scars
      • Controlling sebum production

    • Lasers for Acne & Acne Scars
Our other laser programs, such as the Dual Yellow laser, also help to address acne concerns by reducing breakouts and facial redness, smoothing out acne scars and promoting the growth of newer, smoother skin.

And the great thing is, most of these laser procedures are tolerable, comfortable, and have no downtime! Feel free to apply makeup or resume your daily activities immediately post-treatment.

  2. ACNE PEELS
These are mild chemical peels that can safely resurface the skin while reducing the appearance of acne scars.

Laser Treatments, Acne Peels, & Hydradermabrasion for Acne-Prone Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

If you find yourself backing off after hearing the word “peel”, don’t fret! At LS Aesthetic, we have acne peels that work their magic while having absolutely no downtime and no peeling of the skin afterwards. You’ll be able to resume your daily activities right after treatment!
  3. ACNE FACIAL PROGRAMS
We offer a series of customised acne facial packages to not only reduce acne breakouts, but also clear comedones and reduce hair follicle infections (which by the way, can be perfect breeding grounds for acne bacteria). This can be done through the use of specialised machines we use, to provide services such as:

    • Microdermabrasion
    • Hydradermabrasion
    • Ultrasonic Cleansing

    • Laser Treatments, Acne Peels, & Hydradermabrasion for Acne-Prone Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Our acne facial treatments can also be combined with laser treatments for even more effective results!
  4. BLUE LIGHT THERAPY
Since acne is actually caused by p.acnes bacteria, having blue light therapy actually helps to eliminate the bacteria before they multiply and cause that unwanted acne breakout.

Why blue light though? Blue light – specifically at a wavelength of 415 nm – has been scientifically proven to kill acne-causing bacteria by effectively shutting down the bacteria cells’ metabolisms.

Blue light therapy can be easily tailored into our acne facial programs for a more holistic approach towards fighting unwanted acne.
  5. ORAL MEDICATION
For those with moderate to severe acne, stronger medications can be prescribed to keep acne under control. These medicines work by reducing oil production, as well as killing acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation.

  6. Laser Treatments, Acne Peels, & Hydradermabrasion for Acne-Prone Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

  7. INTERLESIONAL CORTICOSTEROID INJECTIONS
Relax! This doesn’t sound as scary as it seems. A mild corticosteroid is injected directly into the acne cyst and studies have shown that within 24 hours, your acne cyst will disappear! It will feel a little like an ant bite, as with most injections, but at LS Aesthetic, we take steps to make this process as comfortable for you as possible.

Do take note though: this is generally considered as a last resort option for a severe cyst, or an emergency solution if you want to get rid of a sudden huge zit before an important social occasion.

It's 2017! Make Over Your Skin

New year, new you. And it’s not just your resolutions that start over on a clean slate – if you’ve been guilty of not taking good enough care of your skin, now’s the time to fight those bad habits and adopt a healthier and more pampering attitude towards your skin.

Here are the 3 resolutions we’d make for good skin:

1. RESTORE RADIANCE
We all want that dewy, “I woke up like this” complexion – here are some ways to work towards it.

Laser Treatments, Facials for Radiant Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

1. Sleep
Sleep is literally, beauty sleep– it does wonders for your skin! Without enough sleep, your skin’s pH levels drop, creating an imbalance. This can lead to a dehydrated complexion, redness, and an uneven skin tone.

Try setting a sleep schedule by creating target sleeping and waking times – and stick to it! Your complexion will thank you the morning after.

2. Stay Active
Exercise has been proven to clear up your complexion: when you work up a good sweat, your pores tend to dilate, and your sweat tends to expel any trapped dirt and oil, essentially clearing up your skin. Just remember to thoroughly wash your face afterwards, to prevent any dirt from getting sucked back into your pores!

3. Laser Treatments & Pampering Facials
Sometimes our skin just needs an extra boost – at LS Aesthetic Clinic, we have a number of treatments that help bring back the natural radiance of your skin:

A) Dull Complexion Combo
Revive dull skin with a combination of laser treatments and our Radiance facial, which uses a mild enzyme peel to speed up cellular turnover, lightening and brightening all skin types.

B) Intense Hydration and Brightening Treatment
This combination of skin boosters and hydradermabrasion keeps skin hydrated, giving skin an added dewy glow.

C) Eye 2 Laser
Reduce dark eye circles and fine lines around the eye area with our signature eye laser treatment.

D) Radiance/Rejuvenation Facials
These facial treatments use gentle peels to brighten the skin, treat fine lines, and deeply hydrate skin.

2. BANISH BLEMISHES
Unwanted pesky blemishes in the form of acne, freckles, or melasma can sometimes be the bane of our existence. To keep such blemishes away, here are some good habits to practise:

Laser Treatments, Light Therapy, Chemical Peels for Acne, Pigmentation | LS Aesthetic Clinic

1. Sunscreen
Applying sunscreen on a regular basis is a good first start to prevent future pigmentation problems. Remember to apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 that protects you against UVA and UVB rays.

2. Exfoliate on a regular basis
Use a gentle face scrub 2-3 times a week during your daily cleansing routine. This helps prevent pores from clogging up and allowing acne to form, as well as cleanses skin from pollutants that we face on a daily basis.

3. Laser Treatments, Light Therapy or Medical-Grade Peels
For stubborn acne or pigmentation that just won’t go away, aesthetic treatments might help in reducing their appearance. At LS Aesthetic, we have a number of tailored programmes specifically targeted at reducing stubborn blemishes:

A) Acne Combo
Keep unwanted acne at bay! Our signature combination of laser treatments, blue light therapy, and chemical peels can help to reduce acne scars, resulting in clearer, smoother skin.

B) Pigmentation Combo
Lighten freckles, melasma, and age spots with laser treatments and exfoliating chemical peels.

C) Carbon Laser Peel
Tackle acne and oily skin concerns head on with our carbon laser peel. It reduces acne breakouts, minimises pore size, and improves skin tone with no down time!

D) Skin Supplements
Oral supplements such as Pynocare and Crystal Tomato contain antioxidants that prevent the formation ofpigmentation by inhibiting melanin synthesis, effectively whitening and brightening skin.

3. TURN BACK TIME
Concerned about wrinkles or crow’s feet? Making some lifestyle changes, or a trip to the dermatologist can help greatly in reversing any tell-tale signs of aging.

Laser Treatments, Anti Wrinkle Injections, Anti-Aging Skincare | LS Aesthetic Clinic

1. R for Retinoid
Retinoids are one of the magic ingredients for anti-aging: they not only minimise the appearance of wrinkles, but also slow down the breakdown of collagen (which unfortunately tends to happen as part of the aging process) and lighten pigmentation caused by UV damage.

If you’re new to using retinoids, adopt it gradually into your skincare routine by applying it every other day or mixing it with your daily moisturiser or serum. Different people have different needs based on their skin type: some may need to use retinoids more frequently whereas some may only require it every other day.

Retinoids can be found in our day creams from our in-house medical-grade skincare range, LS Formula.

2. Cut down on sugar
Studies have shown that sugar in all forms – high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar etc. – is extremely bad for your skin. It’s known to be collagen’s worst enemy: an overload of sugar in your bloodstream can cause a chemical reaction called glycation, which happens when excess sugar molecules attach themselves to collagen fibres. This causes collagen fibres to lose its strength, in turn causing our skin to sag and be more vulnerable to UV damage and aging.

So hold back on the Coke, and you’ll be doing your skin a huge, huge favour.

3. Laser Treatments and Anti-Wrinkle Injections
To reverse deeper wrinkles or rejuvenate your skin, restorative aesthetic treatments are also an option:

A) Laser Treatments
Our signature laser skin rejuvenation programme helps to tighten skin, improve skin tone, and minimise pores.

B) Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Smooth away forehead wrinkles and frown lines with anti-wrinkle injections

C) Fillers
Achieve a younger look with minimal downtime! Fillers can reduce wrinkles, smoothen skin, and restore volume to sunken cheeks.

So in a nutshell, it’s never too late to start taking good care of your skin! We’d all like to turn back time, banish blemishes, or restore radiance to our complexion, and taking a step towards that, even if it’s just a tiny step, is a great way forward this new year.

Always wondered about laser treatments and the dewy, glowing complexion it can give you, but terrified by the word ‘laser’?

LS Aesthetic Clinic breaks it down for you: what laser treatments really are, how they work, and why there really isn’t much to fear at all.

Laser Treatments for Acne, Pigmentation, Radiant Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

What are laser treatments?

Laser treatments are popular aesthetic procedures that can rejuvenate skin and reduce the effects of aging and UV damage in a safe, minimally invasive manner.

Laser treatments can address a range of skin concerns, such as acne, spider veins, hair removal, pigmentation, and wrinkles.

How does it work to improve my skin?
Laser treatments direct a concentrated pulse of light into your skin. Depending on the type of laser you choose, the laser treatment can either:

1. Gently resurface the outer layers of your skin
This promotes the growth of new skin, resulting in improved skin texture and tone, along with the reduction in acne blemishes and skin imperfections.

or:

2. Penetrate the deeper layers of your skin to stimulate collagen production, as well as reduce wrinkles and pigmentation
How lasers stimulate collagen production is similar to the process of muscle building, where with exercise, muscle fibres are broken down, but the body repairs them to become better and stronger.

In the same way, the heat energy from the laser treatment stimulates the body’s natural healing process, causing collagen and elastin to reproduce at a higher rate. This makes the skin repair itself faster, improving skin texture and reducing redness.

Does it hurt? What’s the recovery time like?
This varies from laser to laser. The gentler laser procedures don’t hurt at all! You’ll likely feel a mild warm sensation as the laser is directed across your face. There is no downtime for such procedures either – you’ll be able to apply makeup and resume your daily routine immediately.

For lasers that resurface your skin, you might feel a prickly sensation during the procedure, but most patients report this as tolerable. To make the procedure even more comfortable, we apply a numbing cream over the treatment area and take steps during the procedure to ensure that it is as comfortable for you as possible.

How much do laser treatments cost?
The cost of laser treatments can range from $300, and depends on a number of factors:

No. of Treatments Required
Those with milder skin concerns may see improvements in just one session, but those with more severe pigmentation or acne scars may require more treatments, up to 6 sessions.

Type of Laser
Different types of lasers are used depending on your skin concern.

What are the different types of lasers available?

Lasers can largely be split into 2 categories:

Ablative Lasers:
These are lasers that resurface your skin, by removing the outer layers of sun-damaged or aged skin, to reveal new skin with improved skin texture and tone. Erbium YAG and Fractional C02 lasers are the common examples of ablative lasers.

Do note that ablative lasers are commonly associated with a week of downtime, so do plan your laser appointment carefully around your social schedule!

Non-Ablative Lasers:
These types of lasers work to rejuvenate your skin while being much gentler in nature – there is no downtime associated with such lasers. You can do this treatment during your lunch break, and immediately apply makeup and go back to work after. Examples of non-ablative lasers include long-pulsed Nd-YAG and Q-Switched Nd-YAG lasers.

Be it a mid-day pick me up or a quick beauty fix just in time for the holidays, we’re always in search of non-invasive aesthetic treatments that deliver great results, fast, – think radiant skin and a more youthful appearance.

With that in mind, we’ve rounded up a list of beauty treatments that have no downtime and can be done during your lunchtime break – perfect for those always on the go!

Lunchtime Beauty Treatments for Glowing Skin | LS Aesthetic Clinic

For Radiant Skin
Just about everyone covets that youthful, dewy glow – here are some of our tried-and-tested methods of achieving that:

Skin Booster Injections: A favourite amongst Korean and Taiwanese celebrities, skin booster injections are a series of micro-injections that use hyaluronic acid to restore hydration to your skin from within, resulting in that coveted glow.

Laser Treatments: These are a great way of rejuvenating your skin while remaining minimally invasive. The concentrated light pulses directed into your skin by laser treatments not only promote the growth of new skin, resulting in improved skin texture and tone, but also stimulate collagen production. We particularly recommend our Dual Yellow laser – a painless and non-invasive laser that is ideal even for sensitive skin.

Facial Peels: Chemical peels, or more popularly known as ‘lunchtime peels’, use mild alpha-hydroxyl (AHA) acids, lactic acid peels or peels with naturally occurring fruit acids, to safely and gently exfoliate your skin while stimulating cell turnover. This results in a reduction of fine lines, tightened pores, as well as the removal of the outer layers of damaged skin to reveal new and more youthful skin – and all this with minimal downtime! You can go back to work and resume your daily activities immediately after your procedure.

Hydradermabrasion/Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive aesthetic procedure that exfoliates dead skin cells, and stimulates skin cell growth. Think of the procedure as a vacuum that painlessly and gently buffs the dull outer layers of your skin! Hydradermabrasion takes things one step further: it not only exfoliates your skin like in microdermabrasion, but also simultaneously infuses medical-grade serums into your skin, resulting in a deeply-hydrated and more radiant complexion.

For A Youthful Appearance
For a quick, turn-back-the clock effect, anti-wrinkle injections (Botox® / Dysport® / Xeomin®) help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

To restore youthful volume, dermal fillers are a great way of fighting initial signs of aging, such as sunken or hollowed cheeks. Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance in our bodies that help to keep our skin smooth, supple, and hydrated.

Radiofrequency Skin Lifting Treatments in Singapore | LS Aesthetic Clinic

For Skin Tightening
Our radiofrequency facials are a great, non-invasive method of skin tightening that help to lift and tighten sagging skin. A handheld device emitting radio waves is directed across your skin in gentle strokes, safely stimulating collagen production. Most of our patients generally experience a warm sensation, which they find relaxing and comfortable – some even fall asleep during the process. Talk about a lunchtime power nap!

For more information on the above treatments or to make your appointment, call us at +65 6738 4700 or email us at enquire@lsaestheticclinic.com. We are conveniently located at #10-04 Wisma Atria Office Tower, 435 Orchard Road Singapore 238877.

It’s no secret that all of us want to put our best face forward this festive season. To get in tip-top shape before the holidays, now’s the time to improve on any beauty habits that you’re currently slacking on.

We’ve broken down the steps you need to take, beauty-wise, to achieve a dewy complexion and look your best this holiday season!

Remember to hydrate, get enough shut-eye, and always, always wash your makeup off before bed: Water, sleep, and thoroughly cleansed skin are some of the best remedies for your skin. Focus on cleansing your skin daily to prevent any unwanted breakouts during the holidays!

Step up your skincare routine: If your current skincare routine is working well for you, then great! Continue doing what works for you. If not, try incorporating 1 or 2 new workhorses into your beauty routine.

Serums are often recommended as they contain a higher concentration of active ingredients that are highly beneficial for your skin. Try our Green Tea Antioxidant Serum, which not only calms inflammation and redness, but also helps to correct hyperpigmentation, blemishes, and redness.

Shelve off nail polish: Nails need time off to regain their natural colour, so leave them clean for a couple of weeks. Gently file nails to remove any yellow stains.

Treat any skin blemishes: For unwanted spider veins, pigmentation,or acne that just won’t go away, it’s best to consult an aesthetic doctor for the best type of treatment for your skin. Laser treatments are a great way to rejuvenate the skin while remaining minimally invasive. Schedule your appointment a couple of weeks before your social events to ensure optimum results.

2 weeks before:

Whiten your teeth: Apply whitening strips sparingly for a nice row of pearly whites just in time for the festive season.

Get your brows professionally shaped: Wax, pluck, or thread – it’s your call – a professional salon visit can make a huge difference! After that, upkeep your brows by occasionally tweezing stray hairs.

Aesthetic Facials, Laser Treatments for Radiant Dewy Complexions | LS Aesthetic Clinic

It’s natural to want to look our best, especially when the festive season is just around the corner. Here, we share our top 3 tips to achieving a radiant complexion, one of the most frequent requests of our clients during this time of the year:

Tip 1: You are what you eat

The festive season is often synonymous with feasting, and who can really resist a good slice of chocolate log cake? While it’s okay to treat yourselves every now and then, do remember to load up on vitamins – they’re the key to healthy skin!

The recommended vitamins for that radiant glow:

Vitamin A: Encourages cell renewal and quells enzymes that break down collagen in our skin

Vitamin C: Protects skin against UV damage and improves skin tone and pigmentation

Vitamin E: Fights facial redness and helps to prevent aging

Tip 2: Don’t fret!

The holiday season can be especially nerve-wracking for some, with endless errands to run, gifts to get, and tasks to complete before the holiday celebrations begin. But remember: stress is something you choose to let get to you, and you can always keep it in check by:

  1. Meditation
Meditation can help to reduce the stream of jumbled thoughts that might be clouding your mind and causing you stress. Taking deep breaths and entering a state of mindfulness can greatly help to restore your calm and elevate your emotional well-being.

  2. Envisioning the outcome
Try not focusing on the task that is causing you stress itself, but rather the relief and calm once it is completed. Studies have shown that reframing your thoughts about a stressful situation often results in lower anxiety and a better outcome.

  3. Getting enough sleep
While staying well-rested won’t prevent any stressful events from happening, being tired or lacking in energy can certainly deplete your ability to deal with stressful situations. Ensure you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep a night, to be sufficiently well-rested to tackle the day ahead.

Tip 3: Get your facial fix

Aesthetic Facials, Laser Treatments for Radiant Dewy Complexions | LS Aesthetic Clinic

Regular facial treatments by skincare professionals are vital as such treatments not only help to rejuvenate dry skin and minimise signs of aging, but also exfoliate dead skin cells and promote new skin cell growth to reveal a smoother and more radiant complexion.

At LS Aesthetic, we offer a number of facials and aesthetic treatments for that dewy glow:

  1. Radiance Facials
This gentle yet effective facial treatment consists of enzymes that speed up cellular turnover and promote the growth of new skin cells, effectively lightening, brightening, and tightening all skin types.

  2. Bright & White
A combination of both light therapy (Limelight) as well as Vitamin C facial treatments to rejuvenate dull complexions, and lighten the appearance of pigmentation.

  3. Hydradermabrasion (with Skin Boosters)
Achieve a radiant complexion with hydradermabrasion! Using pressurised water and oxygen to gently exfoliate your skin while infusing active serums, it deeply cleanses & hydrates all skin types.

Combine with skin boosters (水光针) for an added dewy glow.

  4. Photo Rejuvenation 2D Laser Treatment
Our signature 2D skin rejuvenation laser programme that helps to:
