How does one get a V-shaped face? The answer lies in dissolvable threadlifts.
What are dissolvable
threadlifts?
A dissolvable threadlift is a
non-surgical method of facial lifting, via the safe insertion of ultra-fine
polydioxanone (PDO) threads under the skin, resulting in a more sculpted face
and rejuvenated skin.
This stimulates collagen production, creating a lifting and tightening effect that contributes to the V-shaped face we so desire!
At LS Aesthetic, we offer different types of threadlift procedures, depending on the area you want treated, and the type of thread used, such as Korean Ultra V threadlifts or Silhouette Soft threadlifts.
What are the benefits of dissolvable threadlifts?
- Skin rejuvenation and tightening
- V-shaped face and sharper facial features
- Enhanced collagen production
- Safe, non-invasive procedure
- Minimal downtime
- Good alternative to surgical facelifts
How do dissolvable threadlifts work? How do I get my V-shaped face?
Polydioxanone (PDO) threads –
ultra-fine (0.12mm) medical-grade threads commonly used in cardiovascular
surgeries – are adeptly inserted under the skin.
Absorbable by the skin, the PDO
threads create a firm hold on the underlying tissues as they are gently
positioned into place by Dr. Kok, resulting in the lifting and tightening of
sagging skin. Once the threads are in place, your body naturally responds by
regenerating new collagen bundles that surround each thread filament to
maintain the lifting effect, resulting in a natural-looking V-shaped face.
What areas can be
treated by dissolvable threadlifts? Dissolvable threadlifts are used most commonly to treat
sagging skin on the face and neck, reduce double chins, as well as to achieve a V-shaped face.
Such threadlifts can also be used to treat specific
wrinkles, such as crows' feet, nasolabial folds, glabellar folds, or fine facial
lines.
When will I see
results? How long do the results last? While some patients report seeing
an immediate lifting effect, optimum results for skin lifting and tightening
generally take place in about 1-2 months for most patients, following the body's natural regeneration
of new collagen.
What can I expect during the procedure? Prior to the threadlift procedure, an
experienced therapist will apply a local anaesthetic to the treatment area.
Once the anaesthetic has set, Dr. Kok will begin the procedure by outlining the
placement of the dissolvable threads in the treatment area, before advancing
the threads across previously marked contours.
Most patients do not feel any
pain due to the application of the local anaesthetic. You will most likely
experience a slight pulling effect during the procedure.
Are there any side
effects to dissolvable threadlifts? Given the non-invasive nature of dissolvable threadlifts,
side effects are minimal. Patients might see light bruising and swelling that
should subside over a few days.
Are dissolvable threadlifts safe? The PDO threads used in
dissolvable threadlifts have been widely used in surgeries and other medical
purposes, indicating the safety of the material used in threadlifts.
Furthermore, PDO threads are completely biodegradable – as the threads dissolve
into the skin, it stimulates the body's natural collagen regeneration process.
How do dissolvable
threadlifts compare to traditional facelifts? Traditional facelifts are
invasive procedures that require incisions and cause a certain degree of trauma
to the skin. Patients who undergo traditional surgical facelifts should expect
a downtime of about 2-3 weeks, considerably longer than the downtime for
dissolvable threadlifts.
While a dissolvable threadlift
cannot duplicate the effects of a surgical facelift, it is a good alternative
for those who are not comfortable with the idea of surgery or the prospect of a
long downtime.
Are there any
precautions I should take before or after the procedure? No special preparation is required
before treatment, but it is advisable to inform Dr. Kok of any medicines that
you are currently taking or any treatments that you have already received.
High-impact sports, saunas,
tanning beds, as well as face or neck massages should be avoided for 2-4 weeks
following the treatment. Dr. Kok, along with his team of experienced
therapists, will advise you on how to best protect your skin as it heals.
Am I suited for
dissolvable threadlifts? Dissolvable threadlifts are
suited for all skin types, and are suited for those who wish to treat the
effects of aging, especially in the forms of sagging skin, deep creases, folds,
or wrinkles.
Patients who opt for dissolvable
threadlifts are usually 30 and older, when skin tissues begin to sag due to the
gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin fibres.
